RALEIGH ??? The Agricultural Resources Center and Pesticide Education Project
(PESTed) announces the launch of their new website at
http://www.pested.org. Features of the site include the latest information
on pesticide issues, fact sheets on pesticides and alternatives, action
alerts, a calendar of events, a Spanish-language section, and easy access to
ARC???s publications and special reports.
The new site at
www.pested.org is designed to be easy-to-use, and contains
up-to-the-minute information on pesticide issues. Pested.org provides
resources for people looking to manage pests safely and effectively, as well
as communities working to protect people from the dangers of toxic chemicals.
???Our mission is to empower people to make sound decisions about their health
and environment,??? said ARC???s Program Coordinator, Billie Karel, who
manages the site. ???Pested.org is well-organized and easy-to-use, allowing
people to find the information they need to do just that. It is also a portal
for folks who want to get involved, take action and protect their communities
from toxic pesticides.???
The website was designed by Ingrid Pohl, an ARC/PESTed volunteer and recent
graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill???s School of Information and Library Science. The
site is hosted by ibiblio.org. Feedback about the new site is very welcome,
and should be sent to
PESTed@envirolink.org .
ARC/PESTed is a private, non-profit organization that advocates for
alternatives to toxic pesticides in North Carolina.
